Uploading photos to your WordPress site:

In Photoshop:
1.
In photoshop under “Image Size” Reduce the “Pixel Dimensions” to 1024 for the largest dimension of your image - and click “Ok”

2. Under “File” elect “Save for Web” then select “JPEG High” and click “Save”

2a. in top of popup window add “sized" to your file name.

2b. Select where you want the file saved and click “Save”

In WordPress:
3. Upload your "sized" images to WordPRess

3a. Insert image as “Medium size” - this option is in lower right corner when an image has been selected to be inserted.

3b. Once an image is already uploaded click on edit symbol on the image and change the setting to medium

 

Adding a homepage slider image in WordPress:

In Photoshop:
1.
“Image Size” set the Pixel Dimension - Width to 960 pixels.

2. Crop the height of the image to 505 pixels

3. Under “File” elect “Save for Web” then select “JPEG High” and click “Save”

3a. in top of pop up window add “slider" to your file name.

2b.Select where you want the file saved and click “Save”

In WordPress:
1.
Create a new post tilted slider 1 or slider 2 etc

2. Under featured image select your uploaded "slider" image

2a. Insert into Featured Image as "Full Size" and "Update" the post

3. Under Categories - Add New Category - type slider - then add a check mark next to "slider" and update your post

4. Under Appearance - Theme Options - Homepage - set Featured Sideshow Category to "slider".

3b. Set the timing and number of images

3c. Click Save Options
